Apply installation requirements with Structure Boxes

Apply temperature, sealing, voltage, vibration, and derating requirements to harness objects inside a resizable Structure Box and review traceable findings.

Draw the installation context

A Structure Box is a visible, resizable canvas region. Its profile can represent an engine area, cabin, control panel, wet zone, or a custom installation environment without changing the harness objects themselves.

Inherit requirements by containment

Objects whose centres fall inside the active region inherit its temperature range, system voltage, sealing requirement, vibration level, and minimum derating margin. When regions overlap, the smallest containing box is currently applied.

Important limitations

  • Containment is based on the current canvas object position, not a 3D vehicle installation model.
  • Environment profiles require project-approved limits and part ratings.
  • Structure Box findings support review; they do not certify compliance.

Common questions

What happens when a zone requires 105 °C operation?

Contained components and conductors are checked against the entered temperature requirement. Missing or lower ratings produce UNKNOWN or failure findings.

Can a sealed zone require cavity plugs?

Yes. An unused cavity in a sealed connector can be identified as needing a compatible cavity plug.
